Successful Crawfish Festival 2010

Our Post was honored today as the Grand Marshall for the 60th Annual Tualatin Crawfish Festival. We started out the parade in classic cars, a float, plus two Humvees provided by the National Guard. The Tualatin crowd honored the military and our VFW members with applause, waves and shouts of support along the parade route. Thanks to Shawn Berry for arranging our float and the Ladies Auxiliary (Pat Modlin) for decorating it.

At the Crawfish Festival the VFW Men’s Auxiliary raised money by operating a dunk tank where notables from our community were dunked for $1 a throw:

  • Lou Ogden, Mayor of Tualatin
  • Richard Devlin, Senator
  • Donna Maddux, Tualatin City Council
  • Active Duty Military (3)
  • Tualatin High School Football Team (3)
  • Ryan Miller, Miller Insurance
  • Daniel Payne, Tualatin Web

Thank you to Ryan Miller for donating the dunk tank this year, and the Men’s Auxiliary members who volunteered: Dale Lembke, Don Comstock, John Goodhouse, Daniel Payne.

In the afternoon our Post was open for a Spaghetti dinner. Special thanks to the volunteers who setup and served us: Nick and Sherri Colon.
