VFW National Home for Children

VFW National Home for Children

Despite the challenges of 2020, nothing could keep Santa from visiting the Children of the National Home.
Though unfortunately we were unable to be together this year for the Annual Cootie Christmas Party, we reflected fondly on the memories of this annual tradition of Christmas cheer.
Thankfully Santa and Mrs. Claus from VFW District 8 of Michigan could count on the trusty Firetrucks from the National Home’s fire barn and nearby Onondaga Fire Department to assist them in delivering gifts to the eagerly awaiting children of the National Home.
Thank you! It’s your support throughout the year that makes these magical Christmas memories possible for our residents.

Because we have been unable to open up the beautiful National Home grounds for tours this year, we have created this virtual tour of the VFW National Home for Children.

Yesterday we celebrated our 96th birthday! 96 years of helping military and veteran families and it all started with Mrs. Pollett and her six children. Learn about the history of the National Home by watching this video!

In December 2020, 43 parents and 65 children lived in our community in Eaton Rapids, Michigan.
The National Home’s neighborhood is open to the families of active-duty military personnel, veterans and relatives of VFW and VFW Auxiliary members. The family can be one or both parents with one or more children.
If you know a family that could use our services, please encourage them to call 800-313-4200 or contact us through our website.
