More than 500 VFW and Auxiliary members will attend next week’s 2018 VFW Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. The annual conference amplifies the voices of the 1.7 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliary, reminding lawmakers of the promises they’ve made to America’s service members and their families. The conference begins on March 4 and concludes March 7.
Highlights of this year’s conference include:
- VFW Commander-in-Chief Keith Harman will testify before a special joint hearing of the Senate and House Veterans Affairs Committees. The commander’s testimony will presented in delayed streaming at on Wednesday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. EST here: https://www.vfw.org/VFWDC2018
- Presentation of the VFW Congressional Award to Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-N.J.)
- Voice of Democracy Parade of Winners and subsequent announcement of this year’s first-place $30,000 scholarship recipient and the announcement of this year’s first-place $5,000 Patriot’s Pen winner on Monday, March 5.
