Contests: Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen

The VFW Auxiliary is proud to support the following VFW contests that promote patriotism and citizenship education.

2020-2021 Voice of Democracy Audio-Essay Contest Theme: â€œIs This the Country the Founders Envisioned?” 

• Open to any student in grades 9-12 who is enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States and its territories.
• Does not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, but the student must submit entries to a local VFW Post.
• Student Entry Deadline is Saturday, October 31, 2020.

2020-2021 Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest Theme: â€œWhat is Patriotism to Me?”

• Open to any student in grades 6-8 who is enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States and its territories.
• Does not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, but the student must submit entries to a local VFW Post.
• Student Entry Deadline is Saturday, October 31, 2020.
