Francis Betz, Commander of Beaverton Post 4617, performed a Welcome Home Coin presentation for Frank G. Heyl, LtCol (Ret) (90) on September 7 at a Saturday Breakfast social. Francis presented him with 3 coins for his service in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Frankstarted his military career in the Army Air Corps in 1943. It became the United States Air Force. His career ended in 1983 when he was in the Army National Guard. In his civilan work he was the Director of Outdoor Education for OMSI for a few years. He is author of a book titled “Why Some Survive – Common Threads of Survival” with Richard O. Woodin in January 2010. In 1975 he was with Oregon Search and Rescue.
