Voice of Democracy – Scholarship Competition

Do you know a young person who could use some help paying for college? Maybe you know a teacher searching for creative ways to teach students about American history, values and civic traditions?

Please let them know about VFW’s Voice of Democracy Scholarship Competition!

Since 1947, VFW has awarded America’s best and brightest high school students (grades 9-12) generous scholarships. More than $3 million is given to deserving students annually.

The first prize winner receives a $30,000 scholarship that is paid directly to his/her American university, college or vocational/technical school.

The deadline is fast approaching! Students need to submit their audio-essays to VFW Posts by November 1, 2010.

It’s just one of the many ways VFW is helping to instill American pride and patriotism in our next generation of leaders. We’re calling on good friends of the VFW like you to help spread the word! Post to your Facebook page.

Thanks for sharing the news. And thanks for all you do for America’s service members, veterans and their families.
